We have come a long way through this book.

The Sealy Ministerial Alliance will be having their Community Worship Service on November 20, at 6:00 PM at First Baptist Church.
Pastor Pat Bell from the First United Methodist Church will be delivering the message.
There will be a reception following.
A love offering will be taken up and all the proceeds go to the Sealy Ministerial Alliance to provide benevolence for the Sealy Community.

This long chapter is considered by many the climax of the book as it deals with issues Jesus’ resurrection and our own!
Paul puts it succinctly: “if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain.”
The stakes don’t get higher than that!
But take heart, Christ Jesus has been raised and we will be too!

The Sealy Christian Pantry is preparing for Thanksgiving and will be giving each family a Thanksgiving Holiday Box!
Typically, we have asked for the local churches to help with canned goods for the boxes, but due to the increase in clients and supply chain issues at grocery stores, this year we are asking for financial support to help defray the costs of the goods in the boxes.
We have ordered canned yams and cranberry from Walmart and have also ordered turkeys and hams (which cost around $7,500).
If you would like to help, a donation jar will be at the back of the church through the holiday season. Anything and everything is appreciated!
Food insecurity is a terrible thing and we know that people in our community are struggling as we are now serving over 300 families weekly.
If you are blessed to be a blessing, we would greatly appreciate your support.

Today echoes some of our discussion on the Gifts of the Spirit two weeks ago, but gets more into the specifics of Speaking in Tongues and how that should (and should not) be done and why.
This also informs how we are to worship in peace.
