GALATIANS – Adoption

I died to the Law through the Law, so that I could live for God. I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. And the life that I now live in my body, I live by faith, indeed, by the faithfulness of God’s Son, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Galatians 2:19–20 (CEB)

Adoption is a beautiful thing!

People knowing each other and consciously, willingly, lovingly, and joyfully choosing to be a family forever!

The fact that God knows us with all our sins and failings – and chooses to adopt us as His children anyway – is nothing short of a miracle!

We went from being imprisoned slaves to sin and the law, to being His children and heirs of eternal life.

Amazing; and beautiful!

GALATIANS – Guardians of the Galaxy

I died to the Law through the Law, so that I could live for God. I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. And the life that I now live in my body, I live by faith, indeed, by the faithfulness of God’s Son, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Galatians 2:19–20 (CEB)

The law shows us our sins and makes us transgressors. It brings about our death.

So, why did God give us this seemingly terrible ‘gift?’ Hint: it wasn’t to take our fun away! It served as a guardian until His ultimate Gift — Jesus — would be revealed. He would be the one to fulfill the law’s requirements on our behalf, thus not ending in our death, but our eternal life!

What a great gift after all!

Scripture

  • Galatians 3:19-29

GALATIANS – Father Abraham

The righteous shall live by faith.

Galatians 3:11b

Abraham is one of those “giants” in Scripture we all know about, but probably don’t often think about. As “the Father of many Nations” and one who received God’s Promise, we too often associate him only with the Israelites of the Old Testament.

But that would be a mistake!

Through faith in Abraham’s one Descendant, Jesus, we are also made his descendants and the promise God made to him, is now also for us!

  • Why life doesn’t have to end at death
  • How self-sufficiency can become a stumbling block
  • What to do when you feel like you’re drowning in stormy seas, and much, much more.

Beginning Thursday, September 23, 6:30 PM in the LifeBridge Café.

Everyone is invited to join us!

SURGE — In COMMUNITY

The Greatest Commandment, and Second Greatest Commandment, tell us to love God and love others; that’s relationship. We are not meant to live this life alone. We are meant to live in community.

This series reinforces this need in the lives of students. Each week encourages teens to surround themselves with other believers and to make a positive contribution to their communities.

GALATIANS – Just the Facts

I died to the Law through the Law, so that I could live for God. I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. And the life that I now live in my body, I live by faith, indeed, by the faithfulness of God’s Son, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Galatians 2:19–20 (CEB)

How is one saved? Through what means are they approved by God?

Some want to make the answer difficult (or, really, impossible), but it’s simple: it’s through faith in Jesus and not by fulfilling the law.

How we live that out day-to-day may be challenging, but the truth of that statement for salvation isn’t – and must never be forgotten!
