Hole-ly Skepticism

Have you believed because you have seen Me?
Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.

John 20:29

Thomas gets a tough wrap.

So many people he knows and trusts tell him the best news ever and he doubts.

But, honestly, how many times do we find ourselves in the same situation?

How many times are we told, again and again, how much Jesus loves us, forgives us, and is for us, and we don’t believe – wanting some kind of “proof” to convince us.

As if the resurrection and Scriptures aren’t proof enough!

May we be blessed in believing – without seeing!

Scriptures

Peek-a-Boo!

Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your hearts?

Luke 24:38

Peace seems elusive.

We desperately want it and seek it – even taking classes or seminars or reading books on how to “get” it – but it seems ever out-of-reach.

Much of the reason is that we seek the wrong kind of peace. We seek the world’s promised “peace” rather than the Lord’s assured, resurrected, true Peace!

The disciples we’re afraid and hiding, not knowing what to do; even after being told that Jesus is alive. So when Jesus first appears to most of the disciples, His first words to them are words of the new reality found in His victory – “Peace be with you!”

May you know, live, and share His resurrected and victorious Peace today – and every day!

COVID POSITIVE NOTIFICATION – FORGE Men’s Group

Good afternoon!

We praise and thank the Lord for His continued grace and kindness upon us as a people and nation, and for His mercy and protection amidst the pandemic and unrest that exists around us.

LifeBridge has just learned that someone who was at the FORGE Men’s Bible study last Tuesday evening, April 13, has just tested positive for COVID-19.

Those who attended have been informed directly. Per CDC, those who attended Sunday are not at risk.

WE URGE:

  1. In all public venues, including church, wear a CDC approved face covering.
  2. Enhance your social distancing discipline to maintain 6 feet of distance from others not in your immediate family.
  3. Carefully monitor your symptoms and avoid all personal contact and nonessential travel if you feel the least bit ill.
  4. Continue hand washing and the use of hand sanitizer.
  5. Should you have any symptoms or feel ill, stay away from in-person worship and seek advice from your healthcare professional.
  6. Speak with your health care provider or local Health Department officials with any specific questions you may have about your health or COVID-19.

To ensure your safety LIFEBRIDGE WILL:

  1. Continue to have all worship leadership’s temperature taken and masks worn when not seated each Sunday morning.
  2. Continue to perform contact tracing on those who attend services.
  3. Initiate an enhanced cleaning protocol 1 hour prior to any gathering and a follow up cleaning immediately following an event.
  4. Start handing out Communion elements and fellowship snacks to minimize contact by several.
  5. Closely monitor local, state and federal guidance and adjust our COVID-19 protocols accordingly.

This virus, like all struggles will continue to win some battles in this world. But fear not; for Jesus has overcome the world and won the war!

Continuing to look at Jesus,
Pastor Scott

On the Road Again

Did not our hearts burn within us while He talked to us on the road, while He opened to us the Scriptures?

Luke 24:32

The resurrection of Jesus brings completion to the prophecies of the Old Testament and clarity to the future awaiting all of us. It helps us focus on the reality of Life beyond this life and that all our fears and uncertainties are temporary.

And all of this happens when Jesus, the resurrected One, opens Scripture – opens Himself – to us through the Holy Spirit!

May we be open to Him as He opens Himself to us – and live accordingly!

The Book of EXODUS

The Exodus from Egypt is pivotal in the history and theology of Israel and the Old Testament.

God, rescuing His people from slavery, their disobedience and subsequent wandering in the wilderness, the giving of His Law, and so much more is essential in understanding, not just the history of Scripture, but our history as well!

As we walked through the book of Genesis, so we will walk through the book of Exodus.

Won’t you join us?

Sundays, 8:30 AM, in the LifeBridge café and online.
