GENESIS – Session 27

Good morning, LifeBridge!

I AM SO SORRY! I thought I had pressed “On Air” to start streaming last week but instead pressed a different button. I didn’t notice until the end of class that we hadn’t been streaming. I will try to record a short summary of the chapters we covered (35-37) later. Again, my apologies!

We’re continuing our journey through the book of Genesis!

Join us on our our YouTube channel and will monitor comments there (though they are often delayed).

SCRIPTURE COVERED:

For those coming in-person, please observe proper distancing and safety practices. There will be plenty of room to spread out.

Article 2: REDEMPTION, Part 2 — Jesus & The State of Exaltation

The main thrust of Scripture and of our faith rests in Jesus. So what do the Scriptures say in regard to Who He is and what He has done for us? Today we will talk about those portions dealing with His “State of Exaltation.”

If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

More about the SEDER MEAL from
lifebridgesealy.com/ministries/seder-meal/

The Seder, celebrated on “Maundy Thursday” (a.k.a, “Holy Thursday”), tells the story of the Passover event and meal from the book of the Exodus in the Old Testament. This is important because this is the event Jesus was celebrating with His disciples for His last supper (and instituted the Sacrament of Holy Communion); and He didn’t choose this connection arbitrarily.

Jews the world over celebrate the Seder as a reminder to the Passover. For Christians, we see the deep and deliberate connection of the Passover and Jesus as “the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world” (John 1:29). We will see the how God has saved us from death by the blood of His Lamb, Jesus, just as He saved Israel from death through the blood of lambs in the Exodus.

And all of this will tie into the Passion of Jesus through Holy Week as well as Holy Communion.

Some Scriptures

Be His Change

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Romans 12:1-2 (ESV)

Transfiguration Sunday

Christians are called to be different. Different in what we say. Different in what we do. Different even in the way we think and approach things!

That doesn’t come easily or even naturally! In fact, if left to ourselves, it doesn’t come to us at all! But through faith in Jesus, God has transformed us – changed us fundamentally – into that difference!

Now, as ones who are transformed, we can be the change the world needs by sharing the change Jesus is!

Video will go here after worship.
