We continue our journey with Wild Places as we watch teacher, pastor, and historian George DeJong on location in the Wilderness of Paran as he explores the Tabernacle.

God’s passion and goal from the beginning was and is: to dwell in and among us – especially in the Wild Places!

In this series, George engages the elements of the Tabernacle using his knowledge of Egyptology as well as Rabbinic insights; asking such questions as:

  • Why are there horns on the altars?
  • Why must the priest wash off the blood at the bronze laver when it is the blood that ‘covers’ our sin?
  • Given how heavy the Ark is, how many Levites did it take to carry it?

In this series we learn that God’s favorite place to be was not in the tent, but among His people – especially in their ‘wild places!’

What was true for them is also true for us!

Join us as we journey “With God in Wild Places!

Swans Are Alaska Bound!

You’ve heard the news: the Swans are heading to Alaska, and we want to send them off right!

After worship on Sunday, August 11, we are having a catered luncheon to thank the Lord for the Swans and send them off with love.

[NOTE: RSVP for the meal is now closed.]

Also, we invite you to bring a “love gift” that day in the form of a card, note, and/or financial gift (given to them directly, not to LifeBridge) so they can take our affirmations with them to their new home and ministry.

If you missed the original letter, you can read it below.

Please read the note below from our beloved Caleb & Sofia Swan.

Dear LifeBridge Family,

It is with both tears and joy that we write to inform you that God is calling us away from our LifeBridge family and is moving us to serve Him in Anchorage, Alaska. God has called Caleb into full time ministry to serve and lead the youth at ChangePoint Alaska.

Although this is hard for both us and LifeBridge, we know that we need to follow wherever God is leading us. We thank all of you for accepting us with love into the LifeBridge family and always supporting the ministries we led. God has done amazing things through LifeBridge and we are so thankful for getting to be a part of it. We know that God is going to continue to bless LifeBridge and its ministries and we are excited to see His plans through all of this.

Our last day with you will be Sunday, August 11th. We hope to see you then to say our goodbyes. Please keep us and LifeBridge in your prayers through this transition as we pursue what the Lord has for us.

Blessings,

Caleb & Sofia Swan

Pack-a-Backpack!

It’s Back-2-School time and we can help others by supplying items needed by student who have difficulty affording them.

Helping is an easy 3-part process:

  1. Pick up an empty backpack from the chalkboard at the back of the sanctuary
  2. Fill it with the items on the attached list
  3. Return to LifeBridge on or before August 11

That’s it!

Thanks for you help!

PG-13 Sermon – July 28, 2019

We’re covering the commandment on adultery on Sunday, July 28. As such we will be discussing some more mature topics, including sex, lust, and pornography.

Parents are advised to decide on their child’s attendance and participation likewise.

The Book of RUTH

Beginning Sunday, June 23, 2019, we will be going through the Old Testament book of Ruth.

It is a short book with a great story, but it is more than that and has much to teach us about God’s faithfulness, hope, rescue, and redemption.

See you there!

PRAY-ERS NEEDED IN WORSHIP

So whenever we are in need, we should come bravely before the throne of our merciful God. There we will be treated with undeserved kindness, and we will find help.

Hebrews 4:16 (cev)

God loves it when we talk to Him. When we pray, He delights to listen and answer (and He always answers).

Beginning on Sunday, July 21, we will have a new opportunity to do this during worship on Communion Sundays.

At the back of the sanctuary (beyond where we circle for Communion), we will have a couple of “pray-ers” available to listen and pray with anyone who desires.

What we are envisioning is that people will be able to approach these pray-ers before, during, or immediately following Communion. We are looking to have a male and female available to ensure variety should someone be more comfortable with a specific gender. This will be a time to not only request prayer, but to have someone pray with you.

Oh, and we are looking for folks who would like to be the “pray-ers” in worship. The qualifications:

  1. Be comfortable listening to and praying with/for others and their needs.
  2. Understand and respect the utmost level of confidentiality for all people and prayers. What is said and prayed for during these times stays there, unless specifically requested to be shared by those requesting prayers.
  3. Be faithful to cover the worship days you are scheduled for.

If you would like to join this important ministry or have questions, please contact Carolyn at Prayers@LifeBridgeSealy.com.

We know not everyone may be comfortable approaching someone during this time in worship for prayer, but this will allow an additional opportunity for those who desire it.

Come, let us approach the Lord in prayer!
