“CHRIST IS RISEN! HE IS RISEN, INDEED! ALLELUIA!!”

This is the great shout for Easter; the highest day on the Church calendar!

On this day we celebrate the victory of Jesus over sin, death, and the power of the devil. All that He went through and endured is over and exultation and joy remain.

And for all who have faith in Jesus as their savior gain the same victories He won! Our sins are gone and forgiveness takes its place. Death is gone and everlasting life takes its place. Pain and anguish are bound to this life only and joy eternal awaits.

The resurrection of Jesus is the sole event to which all of history hinges. All of the old testament points to its coming and all since draws meaning in the light of it.

If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins.

1 Corinthians 15:17

Without the resurrection everything else would be pointless and moot!

Come and be with us to celebrate this greatest day of the year and see how Jesus, though His resurrection, changes everything – for you!

GOOD FRIDAY, 2023 — Jesus’ Love and the Meaning of Life

ANNOUNCEMENT

On Friday, April 7, 2023, at 7:00 PM, we will worship and “celebrate” Good Friday with a form of a “Service of Darkness.”

It will be a meaningful, but difficult service. We pray you will attend.

RECORDING

More information on “Good Friday” and a “Service of Darkness” from
lifebridgesealy.com/ministries/worship/good-friday/.

“Good Friday.” Such a strange name for the day when the innocent Savior of humanity and God’s Son died horribly. Yet, for us, the day marks a pivotal event in history. A holy and unbelievable imbalanced exchange: His perfection and innocence for our sins and guilt.

And twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on His head and put a reed in His right hand. And kneeling before Him, they mocked Him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!” And they spit on Him and took the reed and struck Him on the head. And when they had mocked Him, they stripped Him of the robe and put His own clothes on Him and led Him away to crucify Him.

Matthew 27:29-31

Lord, have mercy!

And He did. Have mercy. For us. When we were still in sin and rebellion.

We worship and “celebrate” this event and exchange with a form of a “Tenebrae” service. Tenebrae means “darkness” and the service takes its name from the ceremony of extinguishing the worship candles in such a way that the Church is gradually cast into darkness, except for the light of a single candle. The focus of the Tenebrae is the consequence of sin and the magnitude of Jesus’ sacrifice. The worship ends in darkness and silence, symbolizing our Savior’s death upon the cross. The single candle symbolizes the hope of our Savior’s resurrection. At the completion of the Tenebrae service, the worshipers are asked to leave in silence, in order to maintain the spirit of the Good Friday commemoration of our Savior’s crucifixion.

Experience the depth of God’s love for you on Good Friday so that you can sour with the news of His resurrection on Easter Sunday!

You will be blessed.

More about the SEDER MEAL from
lifebridgesealy.com/ministries/seder-meal/

The Seder, celebrated on “Maundy Thursday” (a.k.a, “Holy Thursday”), tells the story of the Passover event and meal from the book of the Exodus in the Old Testament. This is important because this is the event Jesus was celebrating with His disciples for His last supper (and instituted the Sacrament of Holy Communion); and He didn’t choose this connection arbitrarily.

Jews the world over celebrate the Seder as a reminder to the Passover. For Christians, we see the deep and deliberate connection of the Passover and Jesus as “the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world” (John 1:29). We will see the how God has saved us from death by the blood of His Lamb, Jesus, just as He saved Israel from death through the blood of lambs in the Exodus.

And all of this will tie into the Passion of Jesus through Holy Week as well as Holy Communion.

LifeBridge Missionaries to Foreign Lands

Come alongside Angie Wolfe and Amanda Fait as they heed God’s Call and Great Commission, taking the Gospel of Jesus into the world. They need our support; spiritually and financially. We strongly encourage you to speak with them, pray for them, and contribute financially to their trip, so their focus and concern can be on sharing the Gospel with those whom the Lord will place in their midst.

More information on each mission is below, including information on how to support them in this vital Calling and endeavor.

ANGIE WOLFE
Trinity Ablaze — Kenya

Website

Angie has setup a site chronicling her time in Africa. You can find it here:
sites.google.com/view/whatangiesaw/

I would like to share with you what is on my heart.

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send?” And who will go for us?  And I said, “Here am I.  Send me!”

Isaiah 6:8

I plan to go to Kenya, Africa with a group called Trinity Ablaze Kenya Mission Team. The trip is May 25 – June 4, 2023. On these missions they address both the spiritual needs and physical vision of Kenyans through short term mission trips.

The mission teams conduct vision clinics while spreading the Word of God to all who attend. A single team of eight can reach hundreds of people in a single week giving each visitor a clear vision of Jesus Christ’s healing plus providing eye care through onsite services and materials. They also have a school called Kenyan Schools of Hope that help provide a safe and secure place for girls trying to escape the centuries old tradition of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and Forced Early Marriage (FEM). It offers a refuge to Kenyan girls and provides a residential and educational setting for girls.

Follow Mission Progress on WhatsApp.

I am very excited for this opportunity to go where the Lord is sending me. I want to be His hands and feet during this mission and do my very best to share my passion for the Lord with as many people I can while serving them. Most of all I am excited to see the work that the Holy Spirit will do in and through me and his people as we go. I have a desire to see and meet other people that are longing to see God’s face, and to meet them where they are. I feel that we need to step out of our current living to find creative ways to build the Body of Christ.

I have made you a light for the gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.

Acts 13:47

I believe that God has made me a light and that He is using me as a vessel for the Holy Spirit; a beacon of light to bring salvation in the villages that our team plan to venture out to on this mission.

I would love to have you partner with me in this mission with prayer and/or financial contributions. (As a token of my appreciation any donation over $20 will get a special gift created by me personally.)

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thank you so much for your support!

GodSpeed,
Angie

AMANDA FAIT
Antioch Training School Outreach Trip — Mediterranean

All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.

Matthew 28:18-20

I am very excited to see how The Lord will move among the vast unreached people group in the place my group is going. (We cannot share the name of the country for security reasons.)

The population where we are going has less than 1% evangelical Christians, leaving 99.2% unreached by the Gospel!

We are thrilled to partner with Jesus in how He is moving there and solicit your partnership as well!

Please pray for our team as we prepare, for the team in the country where we are joining, and for the people there who we will encounter.

Please pray for good soil for the seeds to fall on and for the people there to have dreams and visions of Jesus.

Thank you!
Amanda

“The Book of TITUS” — New FORGE Men Series Study

Men, we’re starting a new series on our time together: The Book of TITUS,” by Chip Ingram.

In this Book of the Bible series, Chip Ingram unpacks the book of Titus. He will challenge us to display the gospel in our lives through doing good.

We do good works not to earn God’s favor, but as a result of God’s favor.

When the gospel has truly taken root in our lives, it produces the fruit of godliness. As we pass these things on to future generations, the Church stands in bright contrast to the darkness of the world.

This new series begins on March 14, 2023, at our usual time. (6:00 PM for food; study beginning at 6:30 PM.)
