“Put on the Armor of God” — T.Y.K.E.S. Series

Join us, precious little ones for our T.Y.K.E.S. series from January through February 22.

Tagline

Protected by God’s Armor

Idea

In Ephesians 6, Paul gives us the image of the full armor of God. Using different stories throughout the Bible, little ones will see each piece of armor at work.

Memory Verse

“So put on all of God’s armor. Evil days will come. But you will be able to stand up to anything.” Ephesians 6:13a (NIrV)

Belt of Truth

Put on the Belt of Truth. We want truth all around us. We will speak truth. We will learn God’s word which is truth. We will obey the truth of what God says. Little Ones will learn, “God’s word is true.” John 8:28-40, The Truth Will Set You Free.

Breastplate of Righteousness

Put on the Breastplate of Righteousness. We will try to do the right thing. We will stay away from the wrong things that can hurt us. We will trust in God. Little Ones will learn, “God’s way is right.” 1 Samuel 17:20-49, David and Goliath.

Shoes of Peace

Walk in peace. We are not afraid. Jesus gives us peace. We follow Jesus and share His peace with others. Little Ones will learn, “Jesus gives us peace.” Acts 13:1-5, The Church Sends Barnabas and Saul.

Shield of Faith

We have faith in God. He protects us like a shield and this helps our faith grows stronger. Little Ones will learn, “I can put my faith in God.” Judges 7:1-22, Gideon Defeats the Midianites.

Helmet of Salvation

Put on the helmet of salvation. Know that salvation comes through Jesus only. Jesus came to save us. Little Ones will learn, “Jesus came to save us.” Luke 23:31-43, The Crucifixion.

Sword of the Spirit

The sword of the Spirit is God’s word. When we learn God’s word it helps us. We can overcome any challenge or temptation. Little Ones will learn, “Knowing God’s word makes me strong.” Luke 4:1-13, The Temptation of Jesus.

Prayer

Prayer is talking to God. We can talk to God at any time about anything. He listens and he answers us. He loves us and wants the best for us. Little Ones will learn, “I can always talk to God.” Acts 12:1-16, Peter’s Escape From Prison.

The Full Armor of God

Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, God’s word, and prayer. These are all good things from God. They are the armor of God. They protect us and make us strong. Little Ones will learn, “I can wear the full armor of God.” Ephesians 6:10-18, The Full Armor of God.

2026 Mission Opportunities

Are you feeling the call to GO?

We have three options this year for you to answer that question!

Then Jesus Came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Matthew 28:18-20

GraceWorks Alaska

Background

For those called to Mission but not to Africa, there is another opportunity!

Amy (who was on our team), has been a leader with GraceWorks Alaska a couple of times now. When I (Angie) came back from Kenya and shared a few stories with the Battle group a few of the youth expressed wanting to go on a trip. So, I gathered more information.

Men, we’re starting a new study for our time together, starting on OCTOBER 28 — “The Top Ten Hebrew Words Every Christian Should Know” by Mark Ward through rightnow media.

The Old Testament was originally written in Hebrew, a language inaccessible to most people.

Which Hebrew words are worth knowing? And why should you know them?

We’ll explore Yahweh, Selah, Amen, Messiah, and other important Hebrew words that every Christian should know.

This won’t be a boring exposition, but interesting and exciting. You’ll be glad you came!
