“Simple Salvation”

What does God see in us? Why would He give any attention to the likes of us, who constantly rebel and disobey? His answer: because He loves us and desires to be with us for eternity! He considers us a treasure! May we consider Him ours!

Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

Romans 10:13 (ESV)

“’X’ Marks the Spot”

What does God see in us? Why would He give any attention to the likes of us, who constantly rebel and disobey? His answer: because He loves us and desires to be with us for eternity! He considers us a treasure! May we consider Him ours!

You are a people holy to the LORD your God.

“Roundup”

There will be struggles and things in this world hurt, and challenge us. That’s a certainty. The Devil sows weeds to choke us. In fact, all of Creation is suffering due to sin. But as certain as sin and Satan are, their destruction is assured – as is our eternal life!

Hold on tight! He’s got you!

The Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.

“It’s OK to HAVE SEX but …”

Today in our “It’s OK to … but …” series: SEX.

Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.

Hebrews 13:4 (ESV)

Sex is one of the great gifts of God – and one of the most abused. Abused from misuse and abused from vilification.

How – and why – do we, as Christians, recapture the beauty and joy given and found in this wonderful and intimate act?

“It’s OK to DOUBT but …”

Today in our “It’s OK to … but …” series: the topic of DOUBT.

Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your hearts?

Luke 24:38 (ESV)

Belief and trust in God is a paramount tenet of the Christian faith, yet all Christians – all people! – doubt.

Does that mean we are no longer Christian?

Does that mean we have lost our faith?

As Christians, how can we still have faith and yet doubt?

Join us and see.

“It’s OK to GRIEVE but …”

We continue our sermon series, “It’s OK to … but …” with the topic of GRIEF.

It’s OK to Grieve, but …

The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.

Psalm 34:18 (ESV)

Grief can be overwhelming and shadow everything and everyone else around us. But God gave us this emotion, too. We even see it played out in the Lord Jesus!

What do we do when grieved?

How do we endure?

What does it mean for a Christian to be grieved?

“It’s OK to BE ANGRY but …”

Today we begin our new sermon series, “It’s OK to … but …” with the topic of ANGER.

Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun do down on your anger, and give no opportunity to the devil.

Ephesians 4:26-27 (ESV)

God gave us emotions, including anger, for a reason. But like all things, we need to use them within the bounds God has given us. Outside those bounds lie danger and sin. So, how can we be angry but not sin?

GOD’S PROMISES: Hope

Today we wrap up our sermon series: “GOD’S PROMISES” as they relate to HOPE!

“GOD’S PROMISES: Hope”

Challenges and heartaches will always be with us while we are in this world. God promised us as much. But He has overcome the world, so we can rejoice and have hope, no matter what! We need to remember that every day.

SCRIPTURES:

  • Romans 5:1-5
  • Romans 15:13

“It’s OK to BE A DEMOCRAT/REPUBLICAN but …”

Today we look at the divisive topic of cultural politics in our “It’s OK to … but …” series. Specifically, that of being a Christian and also a DEMOCRAT or REPUBLICAN.

The LORD said, “They have rejected Me from being king over them.”

1 Samuel 8:7 (ESV)

The amount of venom sprayed forth from people (many Christians!) onto others simply because of their party affiliation and views is disheartening and, often, disgusting.

What should be the mindset, attitude, and actions of a Christian within the realm of our cultural politics – and why?

Join us for this special topic.

“It’s OK to DRINK ALCOHOL but …”

Today in our “It’s OK to … but …” sermon series: ALCOHOL.

Do not get drunk with wine, but be filled with the Spirit.

Ephesians 5:18 (ESV)

Much is made of the fact that some Christians drink and others staunchly eschew all alcohol and the dangers involved.

What are we to make of this and how should we address this – as all things – in a godly way?

Join us as we explore.
