SACRAMENT of HOLY COMMUNION

We are celebrating the Sacrament of Holy Communion today.

We teach and believe what Scripture says: this Sacrament shares the true Body & Blood of Jesus (His real presence) in and with the physical elements of bread and wine. In and through it, God offers and give Forgiveness, Life, & Salvation.

Scripture also tells us that we need to “examine ourselves” before partaking since it is such a serious and blessed Gift. This means you should have some instruction and understanding before Communing, so if you have not been instructed or have a different understanding, we ask that you come and cross your arms and receive a blessing today instead of the Sacrament.

One of the ways we do examine and prepare ourselves is through the confession of our sins, which we will do early in the service.

We offer a juice and gluten-free option in individual cups at the back, if you need that. Otherwise, we offer both intinction (dipping the bread into the wine) through the Silver Chalice or taking the Common Cup through the Wooden Chalice. The elder will share more at that time.

We will begin with families with BridgeKidz or Battle aged youth. After they are dismissed from the circles, they will go directly to BridgeKidz and Battle.

We will dismiss from the front to the back along the outside and then return down the center isle.

We also have a Prayer Partner who will be available at the back for confidential prayer time, if you’d like. Our Prayer Partner this morning is CAROLYN GRISBEE.

Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.
