I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some.
1 Corinthians 9:22b
The Corinthians thought themselves superior and able to divine for themselves God’s will and Word, neglecting the teaching of the servant God sent to them (like Paul).
They were “puffed-up” instead of humbling themselves in hearing and learning from those God sent.
May we not be so arrogant and honor those God sends over us!
The fourth of July recalls in our minds the Declaration of Independence for our nation and the whole concept of freedom.
But the freedom we have in Jesus is different. It is true. It is complete. It is everlasting.
That doesn’t mean we get to do everything we want. It means we are free to do everything God has called us for in Jesus. And that is a freedom that matters – forever!
I will be at the LCMS National Youth Gathering on July 10, so we were already not going to have class then.
Ben has come down with a mild case of COVID and Jen and I have mild symptoms and expect to in the next day or so. As such, we won’t have class this Sunday either.
Sleep, fellowship, etc. in good health these two weeks and see you on July 17!
Join us starting July 10, as we learn about Creation – with fingerpaints!
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
Genesis 1:1 (NIrV)
With just paint and our fingers, we can make pictures of whatever we imagine. With just his voice, God created the world, the sky, the animals, and ME!
Each week, preschoolers will have a chance to make finger paintings of the Creation story.

Rest
God made a special day for me to rest and to remember all He has done. We can remember that God made my family. God made my friends. God made me!
I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some.
1 Corinthians 9:22b
The city of Corinth was a tough place, let alone a tough place to start a congregation! Every vice and sin was in abundance.
But Paul had a love for these people and their situation – even as he chastised, taught, and reminded them about “Christ Crucified,” living for others, the Resurrection, and more!
This is an excellent book and we can learn a lot from being in it!
