NEW!! Sunday Church for Youth!

We’re stating something NEW at LifeBridge!

This is for youth, grades 6-10, who want another option on Sunday morning to sitting in church with mom and dad.

This group will meet during the same time as BridgeKidz and will meet in the youth room.

For our first series, “The Way I’m Wired,” students will discover how they are wired and how God strengthens them to live the life they were meant to live.

Every teenager’s life is loaded with undeniable evidence of God’s incredible plans for them, but who helps them unpack all those details to discover why they were born? “The Way I’m Wired” is a youth ministry curriculum that prepares you for the privilege of doing just that. The Bible lessons for youth equip you to teach students that God has three distinct calls on their life:

  1. the call of being transformed into Christ-likeness;
  2. the call of thriving in their seasonal roles; and
  3. the “This I Must Do” call to be part of something that is larger than themselves.

Join us in the adventure of uncovering God’s best for a youth’s life with these youth messages on identity. They – and you – will never be the same!

David and the Giant

In this new 4-week preschool curriculum, children will learn about the early life of David, from his anointing by the prophet Samuel, to his service in King Saul’s court, to his battle with the giant that made him famous in Israel!

God was with David every step of the way, and God is with us, too.

In “David and the Giant,” preschoolers will learn that God is with us – no matter what!

“SNACKS!” For Children’s Ministry

Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him.

Psalm 34:8

Kids love snacks! (Ok, so adults do, too!) They taste good. But even with all of their sweet, crunchy, salty, or chewy goodness, nothing compares to the goodness of our God!

Send your kids to BidgeKidz for this exciting Children’s Church on Sunday mornings!

Our lessons will include:

  • POPSICLES: In those hot summer months, nothing satisfies like a cool, refreshing popsicle. Kids will learn that when we get angry, we should turn to God who can help us keep our cool.
James 1:19-27 — Slow to Become Angry
  • DOUGHNUTS: We love those sweet doughnuts with the trademark hole in the center. Kids will learn that each of us has a hole in our hearts that can only be filled by Jesus.
John 4:4-26 — Jesus and the Samaritan Woman
  • CHEESE PUFFS: Being puffed-up and full of air is great for Cheese Puffs, but not so great for people. Kids will learn that Jesus wants us to be humble and honest rather than puffed up with ego.
    Luke 20:45-21:4 — The Widow’s Offering
  • FRUIT: If we are wise we won’t just snack on junk food, but from time to time we’ll grab something healthy like fruit. Kids will learn that the healthy and wise people are the ones who build their lives on Jesus.
Luke 6:46-49 — The Wise and Foolish Builders
  • POPCORN: When you make popcorn on the stove, what starts as a few kernels quickly gets to popping and soon will a huge pot. Kids will learn when we trust God, even small starts can have great big finishes.
    Judges 7:1-23 — Gideon’s Army
  • GOLDFISH CRACKERS: With their wonderful cheesy crunch, it’s no wonder you want to “catch” as many goldfish crackers in your mouth as you can. Kids will learn that Jesus wants us to be fishers of people, telling them about Jesus.
Luke 5:1-11 — Jesus Calls the First Disciples

Independence Day

We can be very myopic in our view of the world and our culture.

Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

2 Corinthians 6:2b

We tend to not look beyond it and to judge matters according to it.

In fact, often we tend to judge God and His Word in light of culture, politics, or parties instead of the proper way around!

How perverse! How ridiculous! How idolatrous!

On this day when we celebrate the independence of our nation, let us not forget to celebrate the true, eternal, material freedom we have in Jesus!

SCRIPTURE:

“Loss Leader”

Some feel that when you become a Christian, everything becomes easy. Everything is happy. Everything is prosperous.

You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, that my glory may sing Your praise and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to You forever!

Psalm 30:11-12

That is far from reality!

But the reality extends far further than the persistence of suffering for Christians. It is rooted in the One who sees us through them. Who supersedes them. Who has overcome them! Entrenched is the reality that such struggles are finite.

“Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.” Psalm 30:5b

CARE Team — Help Needed

Be a part of LifeBridge’s CARE Team!

Provide meals and other help for LifeBridge families who, due to health reasons (e.g. surgery, birth of a child, etc.) or death of a family member, need some extra love.

The CARE Team would also be the ones to coordinate with the LifeBridge family if there is a funeral reception at the church.

Contact Pastor Scott or Barbara Zeigler for more information.

STEPPING UP — A Call to Courageous Manhood

Men, we’ve completed our first study and have grown closer to God and each other through our shared time and conversations. Now, it’s on to the next!

In STEPPING UP: A Call to Courageous Manhood,” we’ll dig deeper into what it means to “step up and live a courageous life.”

In this series, Dennis Rainey, along with Matt Chandler, Bill Bennett, Tony Dungy, Robert Lewis, Voddie Baucham, Stu Weber, and others unpack what biblical manhood looks like and what it means to be a godly, courageous man in today’s world.

As usual, we’ll meet at 6:00 PM for food and fellowship, do our class from 6:30-7:30 PM, and have some time to wrap-up, pray, and chat from 7:30-8:00 PM.

I hope to see y’all there!
