GALATIANS – Let Freedom Ring

I died to the Law through the Law, so that I could live for God. I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. And the life that I now live in my body, I live by faith, indeed, by the faithfulness of God’s Son, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Galatians 2:19–20 (CEB)

As much as we use the word and concept of “freedom,” we have more laws on our books and prisoners in our jails to make us question what that really means in our society. In fact, from what Paul says, we have a very warped understanding of what true, Christian freedom really is and how it should be reveled and lived in!

“For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.”

Let’s remember that within the freedom we have!

GALATIANS – Mommy Dearest

I died to the Law through the Law, so that I could live for God. I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. And the life that I now live in my body, I live by faith, indeed, by the faithfulness of God’s Son, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Galatians 2:19–20 (CEB)

“Mommy Dearest” was a movie depicting the terrible childhood of the daughter of a beloved Hollywood star, who throughout the pain inflicted on her still had to call he abusing mother, “Mommy Dearest.”

As little as we think about Abraham, we think even less about our maternal parentage as being from the line of Sarah and not Hagar.

Think it doesn’t matter? Paul shows it does!

Though faith, we become children not of a line of sin and terror, but of life and freedom. And in Sarah, we have a true dear mother!

GALATIANS – Adoption

I died to the Law through the Law, so that I could live for God. I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. And the life that I now live in my body, I live by faith, indeed, by the faithfulness of God’s Son, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Galatians 2:19–20 (CEB)

Adoption is a beautiful thing!

People knowing each other and consciously, willingly, lovingly, and joyfully choosing to be a family forever!

The fact that God knows us with all our sins and failings – and chooses to adopt us as His children anyway – is nothing short of a miracle!

We went from being imprisoned slaves to sin and the law, to being His children and heirs of eternal life.

Amazing; and beautiful!

Independence Day

We can be very myopic in our view of the world and our culture.

Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

2 Corinthians 6:2b

We tend to not look beyond it and to judge matters according to it.

In fact, often we tend to judge God and His Word in light of culture, politics, or parties instead of the proper way around!

How perverse! How ridiculous! How idolatrous!

On this day when we celebrate the independence of our nation, let us not forget to celebrate the true, eternal, material freedom we have in Jesus!

EASTER Worship – FREEDOM in CHRIST

Easter Sunday, 2020, @ LifeBridge

IT’S EASTER!!! The highest, most holy day of the year!

Although we wish we could spread the joy of the resurrection of Jesus in person, the fact remains – just because we can’t physically be together, JESUS IS STILL ALIVE AND HIS VICTORY STILL STANDS!!! No virus or situation can or will ever change that!!

Remember that! Every day!
